Erin needed a dresser and wanted something personal, unique and sturdy. She found the piece she was looking for at Swankety Swank, but someone else had already bought it.
I said, no problem! I suggested Erin take advantage of our custom furniture services, allowing her to work with me to create a dresser to her exact specifications.
I went about finding a sturdy dresser with:
- Unique character
- Exactly the right size and amount/type of storage
- The perfect style/period to match her home and decor
After several weeks and a few “not quite right” finds, we arrived at this beauty that fits Erin’s exact storage and over all size needs, and the Swankey Swank credentials of great design, solid bones, and in need of a makeover.

Once we found her dream dresser, my husband Alex and I start the process of rejuvenation.
This exquisite piece needed alot of TLC to bring it back to its former glory. It's well worth the time because it will last for years to come.
After the cleaning, handle removal, sanding and two of those paint coats, this dresser was hand-painted and clear coated, with its original knobs re-assembled.

We developed our color palette using her bedspread for reference. We selected great matching green for the base color of the dresser.
I suggested a cream tree with lavender leaves to make a graphic contrast to the green, yet still complimenting the color scheme.

After delivering the piece to her home, she sent an email message and photo saying, “Yabette, It is absolutely lovely! Thanks so much. It has been a pleasure and my daughter loves it too.”
We couldn’t be more thrilled that this beautiful piece of furniture got an updated look and a new home with a little lady who will enjoy it for years to come.
